General Formation Meeting was held at Oz Tenpin Epping on Wednesday 23rd January 2008 to discuss League Format, constitution and to elect office bearers.

Epping Sports Singles Leagues Constitution

General Items

1. League to commence on Wednesday 13th February 2008
2. League to be sanctioned with the MTBA, as are all league bowlers.
3. All MTBA playing rules and regulations shall apply unless otherwise stated.
4. Oz Tenpin Epping is a non-smoking venue. Bowlers are asked where possible to refrain from smoke breaks during the league.

League Structure and Format

1. The league shall bowl on a Wednesday night at 8:45pm and is to be known as the Epping Sport Singles league.
2. Epping Sports Singles Format:
1. will consist of up to thirty two (32) bowlers playing three (3) games.
2. Play to commence at 8:45 pm.
3. Late bowlers will be given three (3) frames grace after which a blind score shall be recorded for that game.
4. League to run for 33 weeks (1 round Including Positional, Plus 1 Challenge Weeks)
3. Vacancies can be filled at any time, however the league numbers are not to exceed those listed above.
4. Waiting lists can be compiled if necessary.

Bowling Fees

1. The leagues cost shall be $25 per bowler per week.
2. Absent bowlers will be required to pay $9.50 into the prize fund for each week missed.
3. Bowlers who have not paid all monies at the end of season shall have said monies deducted from any prize amount awarded.
4. League fees shall be used as following:
1. Lineage of $15.50 per bowler per week
2. League Prize fund of $8 per bowler per week
3. Challenge Week Prize Fund of $1.50 per bowler per week shall be set aside for the first 16 weeks. Following week 17, the additional funds shall be paid into the league prize fund.
5. On an assigned challenge week, bowlers shall pay $15 lineage only.
6. An estimated Prize Fund payout shall be issued to all bowlers by week 15. A final payout figure shall be issued 2 weeks prior to the end of the season.
7. Prize fund is to be collected and held by Oz Tenpin Epping.

1. A maximum of 10 points shall be available to win each week.
2. Points shall be allocated as follows:
1. 2 Points for a game win based on handicap score
2. 1 Point for a series win based on handicap score
3. 1 point per game for bowling making scratch average

Prizes

1. Prizes shall be handed out from 1st to last
2. Individual awards shall be based on the following conditions:
1. Bowlers are eligible for ONE game award and ONE series award only
2. Scores must be bowled on different nights
3. Scratch awards shall be given over handicap awards
3. Individual awards shall be as follows:
1. High Scratch Game Male & Female
2. High Handicap Game Male & Female
3. High Scratch Series Male & Female
4. High Handicap Series Male & Female

Handicaps

1. The league shall be a handicap league.
2. Handicaps shall be 90% of 210
3. New bowlers shall establish a sports average over 3 games
4. Existing Sports league bowlers shall carry their average for 9 games

Late / Absent Bowlers

1. Bowlers shall be given to the third frame of a game to appear. If they fail to appear by the conclusion of this frame, they shall be declared absent for that game and a blind score given.
2. Bowlers arriving after the third frame may commence bowling at the start of the next game.
3. Absent bowlers shall forfeit their match and win nil points. Opposition shall be required to bowl OVER their average less 10 pins to win. (I.e. an average of 190 shall require a 181 to win, 180 to draw and 179 for a loss.)

Pre / Post Bowling

1. Post bowling (making up games) shall NOT be allowed after the 6th week of league unless authorized by the executive committee.
2. Pre bowling SHALL be allowed on the following conditions:
1. At least 24hrs notice MUST be given to the centre to ensure lanes are properly dressed.
2. All pre bowling is to be done on the scheduled oil pattern.
3. Where possible, pre bowling is to be done on league lanes.

1. The league shall bowl on one of 6 sports conditions each week.
2. The condition shall change every 2 weeks.
3. Pattern data and order of play shall be given to every bowler at the start of the season.

Challenge Weeks

1. Week 17 shall be a Challenge week.
   1. Challenge weeks shall NOT count towards season totals.
   2. During a challenge week, each league shall hold a “Survivor Series” night with cash prizes awarded on the night.
   3. Survivor Series shall be run as follows:
      1. Bowlers shall be ranked on current league position.
      2. Games 1 & 2 shall be head to head matches. The draw shall be decided as follows:
      3. Top half of the league shall be assigned a lane
      4. Bottom half of the league shall draw a lane number upon arrival to find an opponent.
      5. Bowlers will earn 30 pins for a win, 15 for a draw and 0 for a loss. This shall be added to their pinfall from the two games.
      6. Top 8 shall then play one match with the winners advancing.
      7. 4 winners shall then play one match with the winners advancing
      8. 2 winners shall play one match to decide 1st & 2nd for the night with the 2 losers shall play one match to decide 3rd & 4th for the night
      9. Prizes shall be awarded to top 4 bowlers, with bonus $20 prizes for high handicap game and high scratch game.
